His efforts culminated in the construction of an iron chapel in 1857, marking the beginning of a Methodist presence in the area.

As the town expanded, the need for a more accessible and substantial place of worship became evident. Enter the Rev Richard Watson Allen, whose vision and determination led to the acquisition of a prime site at the corner of Queens Road and Grosvenor Road. This location was strategically chosen for its proximity to the military barracks, ensuring that the church would serve both the civilian and military communities effectively.

The construction of the Aldershot Methodist Church began in 1874, with the adjacent Soldiers' Home completed a year later.
