The iron bells were generously donated to Argentina, continuing their legacy beyond German borders.

In a poignant nod to history, a Stolperstein (stumbling stone) was laid in front of the church's portal on January 29, 2021. This small brass plaque commemorates Andreas Grüter, a member of the Christian resistance who preached at St. Marien. Arrested in 1939 and imprisoned in Bochum, Grüter was released in 1941. The Stolperstein serves as a solemn reminder of his courage and the church's role in the broader narrative of resistance during turbulent times.
